The objective was to test the hydrocarbon potential in the Paleocene on\r\nthe west flank of the Cod structure, and to confirm the gas and condensate\r\ndiscovery made by the 7/11-1 well. Well 7/11-1 tested up to 430 Sm3 condensate\r\nand 1254000 Sm3 gas /day from the Late Paleocene Forties Formation.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eOperations and results\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eAppraisal well 7/11-2 was spudded with\r\nthe semi-submersible installation Ocean Traveller on 21 July 1968 and drilled\r\nto TD at 3427 m in the Late Cretaceous Tor Formation. Tight hole was\r\nexperienced when pulling out of the 17 12&quot; hole. The hole was washed back\r\nto TD and mud weight increased to 14 ppg. Logging and casing operations could\r\nthen be successfully carried out. The well was drilled with sea water down to\r\n1219 m where the system was changed to a salt-saturated Drispac-Desco-Flosal\r\ntype.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eThe well tested gas and condensate in\r\nPaleocene sandstones (the Forties Formation).\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eOne core was taken in the Paleocene\r\nsandstone in the interval 3030.6 m to 3045 m.
