When drilling out of the\r\n20&quot; casing shoe, circulation was lost immediately, and the lost\r\ncirculation zone had to be cemented off. The plastic clays caused continuous\r\ntroubles, such as bit balling and plugged shaker screens, and the hole had to\r\nbe reamed and washed several times. Below 3378 m diamond bits were used, and\r\nthe drilling was interrupted frequently because of leaking bumper subs. The\r\nwell was drilled water based with a 1 - 4 % addition of diesel through most of\r\nthe well bore.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eTertiary sands were not developed, and\r\nwhilst thick Late Cretaceous chalky limestone was found as predicted, there\r\nwere no hydrocarbon bearing intervals in it, and reservoir qualities were poor.\r\nNo source rock intervals were encountered, and only very minor traces of higher\r\nhydrocarbons were detected in the Late Paleocene-Early Eocene section, and in\r\nthe interval 3761 to 3901 m in the Hod Formation.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eA small core recovered by junk basket was\r\ntaken at 3589.02 - 3589.5 m.
