The\r\nprimary objective of the well was to test sandstones of Middle Jurassic age.\r\nSecondary objectives were sandstones of Early Jurassic age.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eOperations and results\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eWildcat well 34/10-12 was spudded with\r\nthe semi-submersible installation Neptuno Nordraug on 16 July 1981 and drilled\r\nto TD at 2800 m in the Early Jurassic Statfjord Group. The well was drilled\r\nwith seawater and prehydrated Gel pills down to 298 m and with\r\ngel/lignosulphonate mud from 298 m to TD.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eThe sandstones of both Middle and Early Jurassic\r\nage were water saturated. Shows were recorded on cuttings from claystones,\r\nlimestone and occasional thin sandstones from 1260 m in the Hordaland Group to\r\n1657 m in the Balder Formation. The Jurassic had only trace fluorescence in\r\nsandstone cuttings at 2094 to 2110 m in the Ness Formation, otherwise no trace\r\nof hydrocarbons were seen.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eOne core was cut from 2037 m to 2042.7 m\r\nin the Ness Formation.
