The purpose of the well was to\r\ntest the reservoir qualities, the oil/gas columns, and the hydrocarbon/water\r\ncontact in the area.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eOperations and results\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eAppraisal well 31/5-1 was spudded with\r\nthe semi-submersible installation Treasure Saga on 5 September 1983. The well\r\nwas drilled with seawater and hi-vis pills all through. After drilling to 860 m\r\nand setting the 20" casing, the BOP was run on riser. When the BOP was 12\r\nm above the well head the drill pipe elevator broke, and the BOP dropped down\r\nand damaged the well head. The BOP and some riser joints were recovered before\r\nthe rig was towed to Bergen where the BOP was changed.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eNo cores were cut and no wire line fluid\r\nsamples were taken.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe well was abandoned on 30 September\r\n1983 as a junk well. After repairs Treasure Saga returned to the location on 5\r\nOctober 1983 to spud replacement well 31/5-2.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eTesting\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eNo drill stem test was performed.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n",
