Nine\r\ndays were lost. Also the rough weather with wind speed up to 36 - 42 m/s and\r\nwaves reaching 16 m caused significant WOW down-time. Well 34/10 was spudded\r\nwith the semi-submersible installation West Venture on 27 December 1985 and\r\ndrilled to TD at 482 m in Pliocene sediments in the Nordland Group. Apart from\r\nWOW no significant down-time or technical problem was encountered in the\r\noperations. The well was drilled with water based mud.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eTop Pliocene was encountered at 291 m. The\r\nwell penetrated sand in the interval 344 m to 348 m. The upper 0.5 m was gas\r\nbearing. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eThree short cores were cut with junk\r\ncatcher in the interval 344 m to 347 m. A total of ca one meter clay with variable\r\nsilt/sand/pebbles was retrieved. No wire line fluid samples were taken.\r\nCuttings samples were taken every 5 m from 275 m to TD. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eThe well was permanently abandoned on 26\r\nJanuary 1986.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eTesting\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/b\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003e \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eThe well was perforated and tested in the\r\ninterval 344 m to 346 m, with nitrogen cushion. In the first flow period the\r\nwell produced gas at a rate of ca 25000 Sm3/day. A perforation wash was\r\nperformed, and then acid treatment in order to increase the flow.
