It was designed to test the erosional\r\nescarpment on the east flank of the structure for possible trapping of\r\nhydrocarbons in an area downfaulted to the Statfjord Field pay section to the\r\nwest. Primary objectives of the well were the Early Jurassic Statfjord Group\r\nsands and possible Middle Jurassic Brent Formation sands.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eOperations and results\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eAppraisal well 33/12-3 was spudded with\r\nthe semi-submersible installation Nordskald on 23 April 1975 and drilled to 1725\r\nm in the Paleocene Balder Formation. At this depth irreparable damage to the\r\nwellhead led to the decision to abandon the well. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eNo cores were cut and no wire line fluid\r\nsamples were taken.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eThe well was permanently abandoned on 16\r\nMay 1975 as junk well.
