The primary objective was to find hydrocarbon\r\naccumulations in the Brent Group. Secondary objective was to find additional hydrocarbon\r\naccumulations within the Early Jurassic Cook Formation and Statfjord Group. The\r\nwell was placed in an area where a complete Jurassic succession could be\r\nexpected. Planned TD was 75 m into the Statfjord Group.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eOperations and results\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eWildcat well 30/6-11 was spudded with the\r\nsemi-submersible installation Nortrym on 20 December 1982 and drilled to TD at 4001\r\nm in the Early Jurassic Statfjord Group. When running casing in the 17\r\n1/2&quot; section at 2165 m the rig had to wait on weather. Cavings accumulated\r\nas fill on the bottom and the casing was differentially stuck. Various\r\nadditives were used to free the casing, including diesel. The well was drilled\r\nwith seawater and hi-vis pills down to 235 m, with pre-hydrated bentonite and\r\nseawater from 235 m to 965 m, and with KCl/polymer mud from 965 m to 2165 m.\r\nFrom 2165 m to 3654 m, the KCl/polymer mud was slowly converted to a dispersed\r\nlignosulphonate/lignite mud and in the bottom 8 3/8&quot; section, from 3654 m\r\nto TD a dispersed lignosulphonate/lignite mud system was used. From 2165 and\r\ndownwards the diesel content in the mud was 5%, diminishing to traces below\r\n3265 m.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eThe Brent Group (3351 - 3561m) had a\r\ngross thickness of 210 m with 118 m of net sand, giving a net to gross ratio of\r\n0.56. The average porosity of the sandstones were calculated from wireline logs\r\nto 16% with an average water saturation of 80%.
