The primary objective was to test\r\nthe Mesozoic &quot;Deep Frigg&quot; structure below the Frigg Field. The\r\nstructure is a narrow north-south trending rotated mesozoic fault block. The\r\nfirst well drilled on the structure, 25/1-1, penetrated the top of Middle\r\nJurassic sandstones at more than 4500 m, but was abandoned due to water flow\r\nassociated with high pressure. The second well, 30/10-5, encountered both\r\nMiddle Jurassic Brent Group sandstones and Lower Jurassic Statfjord Group\r\nsandstones, but the sandstones were water bearing. Well 25/1-10 was designed to\r\ntest the remaining up dip potential of the Brent and Statfjord reservoirs.\r\nSecondary objectives were to establish the sweeping status of the Lower Eocene\r\nFrigg Formation and to obtain additional petrophysical data from this\r\nreservoir.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eOperations and results\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eWildcat well 25/1-10 was spudded with the\r\nsemi-submersible installation Vinni on 19 April 1988 and drilled to TD at 3739\r\nm in the Middle Jurassic Brent Group. The interval 287-923 m was drilled with a\r\n14 3/4&quot; pilot hole to check for shallow gas. No gas was detected during\r\ndrilling. The main problems during operations were encountered with the shales\r\nabove the Frigg Formation and subsequent mud losses into the Frigg Formation.\r\nFurther hole problems and mud losses occurred in the Brent Group, related to\r\nhigh pressures and fragile formation. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eTop of Frigg was found at 1926 m. The\r\nelectrical wireline logs clearly showed that formation water has swept the gas\r\nthat was initially present in the Frigg reservoir sands.
