    "wlbHistory" : "\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGeneral\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eBlock 7120/1 is situated on the southern\r\nmargin of the Loppa High and is bisected by the east-west trending Southern\r\nLoppa High boundary fault, which separates the Loppa High from the Hammerfest\r\nBasin to the south. The main objective of well 7120/1-2 was two\r\nseismostratigraphically defined wedges (of inferred Aptian age) in a large\r\nfault-bound closure against the Loppa High. Additional objectives were provided\r\nby a lower wedge of inferred Hauterivian age and Early Jurassic/Late Triassic\r\nelastics truncated beneath the Base Cretaceous unconformity, both down dip from\r\nthe structural culmination.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eOperations and results\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe well spudded with the\r\nsemi-submersible installation Ross Rig on 1 January 1989 and drilled to a total\r\ndepth of 2630 m in Late Triassic sediments of the Fruholmen Formation. No\r\nshallow gas was encountered at any depth. The rig had to be moved three times\r\ndue to problems with boulders that increased the hole inclination too much.\r\nRough weather conditions, with waves exceeding 16 m, delayed drilling with\r\nseveral days. The well was drilled with seawater and spud mud down to 617 m and\r\nwith KCl /Polymer mud from 617 m to TD. \u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eWell 7120/1-2 penetrated two seismically\r\ndefined &quot;wedges&quot; which contained three distinct clastic packages. The\r\nuppermost wedge (Wedge I from1585 m to1826 m) was dated as Early to Middle\r\nAlbian in age, whilst the lower hydrocarbon-bearing wedge contains two units of\r\nlatest Ryazanian / Early Valanginian (Wedge IIa from1878 m to 1984 m) and\r\nEarly Volgian age (Wedge IIb from1984 m to 2138 m) respectively. These units\r\nhad not previously been penetrated on the Barents Shelf.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eOil shows (direct fluorescence) was\r\nrecorded on cuttings and cores in several intervals below 1931 m. Based on DST,\r\nlogs, cores and RFT pressure measurements it was concluded that an oil column\r\nin excess of 90 m was encountered in Wedge IIa.
