The\r\nmain target of the well was sandstones in the Middle Jurassic Brent Group. The\r\nprimary objectives were to prove the extension of the Omega oil column into\r\nlicense 104, find the fluid contacts, and test communication and reservoir\r\nrelationship with the Omega North and B prospects. The well was planned to\r\ndrill approximately 50 m into the Dunlin Group at a final depth of\r\napproximately 3182 m RKB.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eOperations and results\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/b\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eWell 30/9-8 was spudded with the\r\nsemi-submersible installation Polar Pioneer on 29 July 1989 and drilled to TD\r\nat 1060 m in presumed Miocene sediments of the Hordaland Group. The well was\r\ndrilled using seawater and high viscosity pills with returns to the seabed. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eNo cores were cut and no wire line fluid\r\nsamples were taken.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eAfter setting of the 13 3/8" casing\r\nto 1044 m the well was suspended on 2 August while the rig left for work on\r\nanother contract (TOGI pull-in operation).
