The\r\nprimary objective was to test a late Jurassic &quot;wedge&quot; sandstone. The\r\nsecondary objective was Late Jurassic, Volgian age, sandstones. The well would\r\nalso determine reservoir quality of the Shetland Group chalk sequences. No shallow gas\r\nzones were penetrated in the well. The well penetrated high pore pressures at\r\n3176 m in the Lower Cretaceous that required plugging back the well and setting\r\nan 11 3/4&quot; liner. High pore pressures were again penetrated at 4274 m in\r\nthe Late Jurassic. Due to well control considerations, the hole was plugged\r\nback and sidetracked below approximately 3797 m before setting a 7&quot; liner\r\nat 4202 m. Further down high pore pressures again forced a premature end to the\r\nwell with TD at 4397 m in the Late Jurassic (Late Kimmeridgian) Farsund\r\nFormation. The well was drilled with seawater and pre-hydrated bentonite down\r\nto 952 m, with KCl/PHPA/Polydrill mud from 952 m to 2560 m, with AncoTemp\r\nPolydrill/Ancoresin PHPA from 2560 m to 3855 m, and with AncoTemp\r\nPolydrill/Hostadrill PHPA mud from 3855 m to TD.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp class=MsoBodyText\u003e\u003cspan lang=EN-GB\u003eTop Shetland Group Chalk (Tor Formation)\r\nwas encountered at 2614 m with a 73% mud gas peak and good oil shows. The Tor\r\nFormation was 3 m thick and the underlying Hod Formation was 225 m thick.
